About us
Who We Are
TAG Initiative, short for The Ambitious Girl Initiative, is a dedicated community-based organization with a clear mission: to empower and transform the lives of adolescent girls in rural communities in Kenya. We understand the unique challenges these girls face, including limited access to menstrual hygiene products, insufficient sexual and reproductive health education, and the persistent threat of early pregnancies and gender-based violence. At TAG Initiative, we firmly believe that every adolescent girl has the potential to achieve her ambitions and build a brighter future.
Where We Work
In Turbo Sub County and Uasin Gishu County at large, we focus our efforts on bettering the health and well-being of the community, where pressing concerns include a high teen pregnancy rate, limited access to menstrual hygiene products, and high levels of poverty in low-income households. Some girls resort to transactional sex to afford sanitary towels, while mothers often bear the responsibility of providing these essential products despite limited financial resources.
Our Mission
To inspire, educate, and empower girls to break barriers, overcome obstacles, and reach for their goals with determination and resilience.
Our Vision
To see healthy adolescent girls consistently attending school, improving their performance, and graduating from primary and secondary school.
Our Goal
To create awareness of sexual and reproductive health and rights among adolescent girls and provide them with menstrual hygiene products.
Our Values
Empowerment:
We believe in empowering girls with the knowledge and resources they need to make positive changes in their lives and communities.

We encourage girls to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and grow stronger through perseverance.

TAGI is an inclusive organization, welcoming girls from all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. We celebrate diversity and recognize the unique strengths each girl brings to the table.

We believe in the power of collaboration and work closely with schools, parents, local businesses, and other community organizations to maximize our impact.
